The House that Antoinette Built
While I was in NY for Fashion Week, I came across charming accessory designer, Antoinette, the owner of House of Antoinette1950. She caught my eye at the crowded Independent Fashion Blogger Conference with her ornate embellished feathered hat fascinator that is part of her Hair Adornments collection for which she has a catalogue. She spoke with easy enthusiasm and warmth about how the pieces are made and the vision for her lifestyle brand. Antoinette started designing jewelry as a child. Over time the designs evolved and she started designing apparel, accessories and home decor. For her, the entire process is a labor of love.
HOA1950 was launched in 2010 and carries a variety of eco-chic accessories, purses & clutches, and apparel. All items are precisely handcrafted from vintage pieces that easily come her way and other materials from around the world sourced in NYC. The hair adornment that I loved at the conference is not available for sale, but there is much that is at her online shop.
